MindGenix is a specialized neurosciences preclinical contract research service company. It provides pharmaceutical clients with the ability to optimize and accelerate drug selection in Alzheimer’s disease (“AD”). Its core technology resource is a double transgenic mouse model that exhibits a well-characterized, rapidly developing phenotype that is highly consistent with several key features of human AD pathology. The APP/PS1 double transgenic model is therefore useful for testing a broad spectrum of new drug candidates including modulators of ß-amyloid fibrillogenesis, secretase inhibitors, anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatories, immunotherapies and cognitive enhancers. In addition, the model has utility in identifying new therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers of the disease. Mindgenix is the only company licensed to offer third-party testing in the APP/PS1 mouse and its business model is to provide services on a fee-for-service basis with no flow through royalty payments. Mindgenix clients includes major pharmaceutical and smaller biotechnology companies worldwide.
